Xikar Xi2 Cutter ~ June 12, 2012

This week I have decided to do something a little different. I have many people me ask how to cut a cigar properly. A proper cut can make the smoking experience even better.

While there are different ways to achieve this, my personal favorite is the basic straight cut. A perfect cut is about 1/8" to 1/4" from the top of the cap on the cigar, but to get the best cut you will need a sharp, dependable cutter that will not tear the cigar.

If you are looking for a great cutter with a reasonable price tag, the Xi2 from Xikar is a great option with a price tag at $42. The Xi2 features a pair of the sharpest blades you can get on a cutter to slice through the cap of any cigar up to a 60-ring gauge.

For those of you out there that are new to cigars or do not know how to get the perfect cut, the Xi2 will help.

For a cigar with a standard round cap, you can simply lay the cutter flat on the table to cut off the right amount at approximately 1/8" off the cap of the cigar. For torpedoes and pyramids, place the cutter at the desired spot of the cigar and cut.

The best part of this Xikar Xi2 cutter is the lifetime warranty, and if you register online at Xikar.com, they will send you a leather sheath to protect your new investment.
